De
DeGoogling is the movement to reduce or eliminate reliance on Google services and products in your digital life. People do this to reclaim personal privacy, regain digital autonomy, and resist the data-tracking models of Big Tech.
Why should I change?
Google has long been notorious for using our data for targeted advertising, while also being known for killing off services and leaving users stranded. Recent years have shown just how dependent other countries have become on American tech — a handful of companies can hold enormous leverage over millions of people simply by controlling the services they rely on. Google is a prime example of why digital sovereignty matters.
What does this mean for me?
Less Dependency
You aren't trusting your entire digital life to a single company.
No individual leader should be able to pressure companies into shutting down their services in an entire country simply because its government refuses to comply with their demands.
FOSS Projects
FOSS projects, also known as open-source projects, are software projects whose source code is publicly accessible and can be improved by anyone.
These community-driven projects often offer better privacy and more transparency than services controlled by companies like Google.
More Privacy
Your personal data shouldn’t be treated as a product. Google collects vast amounts of user data for advertising and other purposes, making it harder to keep your digital life private.
By reducing your reliance on Google’s services and choosing more privacy-focused alternatives, you can take back control of your data and keep more of your digital life private.
